Save on New Postage Increase
When United States Postal Service new rates take effect on Monday, May 14, 2007, the single-piece 1-ounce letter rate will increase from $0.39 to $.0.41 and the single-piece 1-ounce rate for large envelope (flats) will increase from $0.52 to $0.80.

University Mail Services is implementing the following changes to create opportunities for savings:
- All University departments and offices are required to use a standard #10 envelopes. (The maximum weight for letter-size pieces will be 3.5 ounces).
- Use of large envelopes (flats) are limited to mailing of diplomas, certificates and other documents that cannot be folded.
- All outgoing mail must have a return address, including the department/office name.
- All outgoing mail must be unsealed, and all addresses must be typed (not hand written).
